17 year old, paying +$100 monthly insurance rate, 2.50 a gallon, on a burger flipper's salary.
I'm looking into buying a 1970 something chevy nova for under 1500.
Question 1) Is that too much/enough?
Question 2) How much would a new paint job cost? and would it be cost effective to the mileage to take out the stock carbeurated v-6 and replace it with a fuel injected v-8?
Question 3) What kind of mileage can I expect out of this thing? What could I bump it up to and how?

* This thing hasn't been restored. Frankly, it's sitting in the ghetto, down to the matte sky blue paint. But I have a little disposable income and some savings, so I don't mind fixing it up, if it's worth being a good daily driver/occasional road trip car
