What is the estimated maintenance cost on a 1970's to 80's Corvette?

So I'm thinking of buying a good old American Corvette. All the kids my age (17) drive little punk cars (they aren't bad, just not my style!) I've always loved Corvettes, especially the 60s and 70s (the 60s are little out of my price range though). So I'm thinking of getting a 70's-80's Vette, but first I have to think about the dreaded maintenance. How much is that gonna cost me a year??? My dad says he does maintenance on his 06 Lancer for about 600 a year, minus the REALLY BIG stuff (like the transmission goes). What could I expect for an old Corvette though??? This is something I seriously have to think about, before I jump into this kind of car.
