I have an '84 vette with the L83 SB 350. it has 75,000 miles on it and I recently put a cam in it. For the break in of the cam I used rotella 15w-40 and a Lucas break-in additive. I have about 750 miles on the current oil and am planning on dumping it in 250 miles. What are my best options as far as oils go? Synthetic or conventional? Standard or racing oil(oil with more zinc), and what interval should I change it at? Right now I am looking at Valvoline VR1 20w-50 racing oil, Mobil1 synthetic, Castrol Edge synthetic, Q-horsepower synthetic, or royal purple. I would like to have the best oil for my engine with the longest service interval. I am also planning on running one quart of lucas oil stabilizer per oil change (regular if i use regular oil, synthetic lucas if i go synthetic). I am not stuck on any of those particular oils, those are just the ones i have looked into. I am completely open to all suggestions. The most detailed and knowledgeable answer gets 10 points.
