I bought my truck about 2yrs ago, and have had no problems with it, but now it's been making a pinging noise.
We just did a tune up about 3wks ago, including the oil change. We used the 5-30weight oil, which was recommended, but we also added that Lucas oil additive. It's supposed to good for older engines, to make 'em run better, and supposed to make newer engine life last longer. Could that be what is causing the problem??? Maybe the lucas is too thick?
The oil level is fine, so it's not that.
Also, i'm gonna do another oil change today, just in case it is the lucas, but would the damage be done, or would it be reversible?
