I recently replaced the manifold intake gaskets on my 2000 chevy malibu after it overheated on the freeway. The temperature before this incident used to always sit right below halfway on the temp gauge. After the manifold gaskets got replaced, the temperature is always a little over halfway and stays there. However, it only takes sitting in traffic a little bit before it begins to warm up. I have not waited to see if it overheats before I turn on the heater to cool it off. It makes me nervous. Is there a way to lower the natural temp back to what it was?
