What are the brightest possible headlights I can put in my 2005 Chevy Cobalt LS?

I just bought a 2005 Chevy Cobalt LS coupe, and will be using it to travel to and from work every night. I have to drive an hour through a long, dark, wooded area, where moose often love to hang out. In June, an 800 pound moose ran directly into the passengers side of my vehicle as I was driving by, which totaled my car. It is because of this accident that I want to have the brightest headlights I can possibly (legally) have.
