what are some mods for chevy suburban with a 454 under the hood?

i picked this up for 800 dollars the other day
and it runs like a charm
it has black doors
a red hood
and beige body panels..i need to give it a new paint job lol

i got him down to 800 bucks which is cool
any mods to make it faster and look better? im painting it black and im have someone make the exhaust tips come out the sides

Well, I sure think a paint job will add considerably to the power. I think normal hot rod things will work with this bomb but it probably has what we call "peanut" ports in the heads. A good set of heads is going to be required to get any real power at all. About double or triple what you paid for the truck. Sorry.
