Were Corvette bodies ever made of anything other then fiber glass?

My cousin and I have a little argument going. I say Corvette bodies have never been made of steel or anything other then fiber glass. However he seams to think different and swears to high heaven that the early 60's bodies were steel. Can anyone solve our dispute? And don't answer if you aren't 100% sure!
