I was reading this interesting article about how the 1984 Corvette crossfire injection was possibly sabotaged on purpose to make the TPI system more glorified. I guess GM was marketing the TPI system and buyers were waiting for it to come out, but it wasn't ready in time for the release of the '84 Corvette. I read the crossfire injection would have worked well if they didn't make the injectors so small along with other intentional flaws making it so do-it-yourself guys couldn't fix them.
