u joint problems 1986 corvette?

Now I admit that I hate Corvettes, and this is something I would do just to total one.
I think in the 86 models the rear U joint is part of the rear suspension members. I know on earlier ones this failure would let the wheel flop inward or out ward dumping the car on the pavement.
So go for it, we need to get all those GM wannabees off the high way!
