Two wires behind the glove box are getting really hot in my 95 chevy silverado?

It all started when we were replacing a blower motor that we thought was going out. The new one didn't work either, thats when we (on accident) noticed that a single pair of wires, red & black, going from bottom of dash to top was the key to making blower motor work. If you moved them just right the motor would blow. These wires were very hot and the connector that was directly behind the glove box was aging bc of the heat. This was months ago. NOW the blower motor never works, the headlights dont either and when you wiggle the wire now the car cuts off. Please help if you seen this problem
