My 17 malibu has 171000 miles on it. I ran over something that punctured my transmission and it needs to be replaced. My insurance will cover the cost minus my deductible which is 2000. The cost for a remanufactured transmission is 500. Should I just trade my car in or pay for a rebuilt transmission?
 
How much is the total cost of the repair?
What tradein value have you been quoted for the car in it's current condition?
