Towing MPG

I just made my first long trip towing in my 2012 Crew cab 1/2 ton z71 ltz. I have a 21' aluminum boat that isn't too heavy and a topper. I drove 70 from Lansing to detroit 150 miles of which 130 were freeway. I only got 9.5 mpg. That seemed way terrible to me. My 99 Durango got 11 mpg. On the way home I drove 65 and got up to 10.8. I drafted a semi half the way home going 64 and got 11.7. What kind of Towing Mpg should I expect and/or what are you guys getting in similar trucks.

our turck has the 6L, for a while the mpg really sucked when towing, but after the engine breaks in more we started 19ish round 65 towing a 8000 lbs
