Hi everyone I'm a recent retiree looking to spend my hard earned money finishing a childhood dream to build a car that will hunt corvettes, and look good doing it. So............
I am building a 1969 Mustang from the ground up. I purchased a dynacorn chassis so I am starting totally from scratch. I know all the "old" engines that the mustangs had. I owned both a 67 gt 350 and a 70 gt 500 when they were new...dont get me started on giving those up. Ideally I wanted to drop a 427 SOHC in it since that was 'bout the only thing back then to make a vette worry, but I recognize those are hard to come by plus while they made horsepower like nothing else they also ate fuel and my daughters keep telling me i need to be "socially responsible". So to that end- What I want to know is, can I find a new ford motor that will match the brute force of the 427 and get me good mpg defined as >11 mpg during daily driving
? Thanks Oh also I am not adverse to blowing the motor.
