Hi all, newbie here.
Putting together my first nova, and am running into some problems. The drivetrain is a blown sbc to a th400. The car was originally a 6 cyl.
So i dropped in the motor and trans, and bought the th400 cross-member from classic industries as well as the trans mount from energy suspensions.
The crossmember just doesnt seem to fit, at least it doesnt seem to. I fit in in an it looks like the trans is almost hitting the tunnel. I know there is an offset to the passenger side from the bbc setups, but this just doesnt seem right. The cross member bolts up to the existing holes in the frame just fine, but the tail is basically against the tunnel. Clearance is fine at the firewall.
Do i have to move the crossmember back or something? Am I missing something, or is this just how it works?
Any help, suggestions or pics of how the setup should look would be great and much appreciated.
Ron
