Suggestion for '14 Silverado CatBack exhaust

I want to replace the exhaust pipes on my '14 Silverado. It has the 5.3 V8. I was originally going to have a replacement muffler installed but a friend suggested I wouldn't like the result. There must be a better way to get the mellow sound I want without spending all the $$$$$ on FlowMaster.

I have a Magnaflow Cat Back Exhaust and have no complaints about it.
