I found a 1987 corvette with 87000 miles for sale for 3000 smackers, the exterior is in great condition, but the interior has some sun rot, the leather is ripped, and the door panels are a little messed up. The battery on the car drains in about two days if not unplugged, and there is a small transmition leak. My question is if I should buy the car, if I should try to talk the price down, and should I expect any large prices for the fixes needed?

Sounds like a potential problem if you do buy it id talk it down but you might even wanna ask if you can take the car to a mechanic.
Get tranny check
you probably need a new alternator
sounds like some small fixes and you should be ok 200-800 bucks if you do it yourself

I don't think you should buy it. Some makes such as Ford, don't cost much to repair and are easy to find parts, but Corvettes are like BMW's. They cost a fortune to repair, or even to have a service on those makes. The interior would cost about as much as the car itself to get it looking like new. The batteries would really annoy me. That would cost a fair bit. A transmission problem is very costly as well. If you really want this car, it wouldn't hurt asking for a lower price $2000-$2500. But be have some money laying around for repairs. Personally I wouldn't buy it but, its up to you.

Sincerly,
Jack
