Service 4wd in DIC

Have an 05 Southern Comfort Edition with 85k miles. The Service 4wd warning comes across the DIC. I reset, however, I still have 4wd. I connected a scan tool, however, "NO CODES" comes up. Any ideas? Has anyone else experienced this problem. Possible sensor? I'm new to this site and any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

If you used a standard OBD-II scan tool it is not designed to check codes in the BCM or ABS or other systems, just the ECM/PCM. Thankfully if you have a 79 Vette it has none of these systems.

thanks zora, appreciate. thru further research, i found another person experiencing the exact same problem and it was cured by replacing the "encoder module". it is supposed to be some type of sensor that works with the encoder and the transfer case. going to take it to the mechanic after the holidays.
