I was wondering if anyone had any info on the 283 option the dealer offered on the 1963 Chevy II, Nova. I have someone who has a 283 block stamped 1963 with original pistons and heads and I wanted to take out the six banger in my '63 and put it in.
1. Is the 283 the only dealer option or was the 327 and option also?
2. What was the HP offered by the dealer for the 283 and the 327, if the 327 was an option.
3. What rear end will I need for either the 283 or the 327 with the dealer option HP?
4. Will I need a new radiator if mine is original for the 194 6 cylinder engine?
5. Will the power glide Trans handle either the 283 or the 327?
6. The speedometer shows 81k, how can I tell if its been turned over?(the numbers all line up)
Thanks to everyone who replies to this post for your help.
