Restoration advice

I have '68 Chevy Nova 6 cyl, all original, unmolested, 1 owner car with 50,000 miles on it. It runs, but needs some work. Some blemishes but all metal is solid.

I can restore it as is with all numbers matching, but it would be a 6cyl manual steering and brakes. Or, I could drop a V8 and maybe turn it into an SS clone.

If my goal is to make the most profit, which should I choose?

If your doing all the work yourself a clone SS would be worth more. If you have to pay someone to do the work forget about it you will never recoup the money you put into it.

That's what I figured. My mechanic is all excited about it, but I know it's because of the money he'll make on the project.
