Replaced Brake Light Switch and now wont shift out of Park ???

2003 Tahoe Z71 with no brake light condition....Purchased new switch from Auto Zone and after install could not get out of Park...Though the switch was bad got another and same Thing??? Could use some help Please
:)
 
Why did you replace it?
Did you check if the brake lights work?
You may not have the switch properly installed or adjusted to activate the brake lights.
