Rear seat fell down

The top portion of the rear seat fell down on the passenger side. There is a metal bracket on the back of the seat but it is not latched in. When I raise the bottom portion up, it still doesn’t go high enough for us to be able to reattach it. But I do believe that is how it came undone in the first place.

It sounds like something detached at the point where the seat back pivots if it no longer aligns.
