REAR GATE WON'T LIFT

Got a 2016 Suburban. Rear gate pops open only 2 inches whether I do it pressing the button inside or from outside, or using the remote.
then I have to lift it manually and it stays up. To close it I also have to do it manually.
What part do I need to buy? Is it a do it yourself job?

There are lots of videos on Sunurban lift gate wont open automatically. The causes vary so you will first have to determine what the issue is before buying anything. You probably have stripped gears.
