The slightest bit of wind or hill causes my barn doors to close on me while I am loading stuff in the back of my 1997 Suburban and it drives me crazy. The so-called latch is a terrible design. Has anyone come up with a home brew latch, enhancement or even something to jam in there to keep the doors from closing on their own while loading and unloading?

I have used bungie cords to tie the door to the fuel door, but I always forget its there. I stupidly close the door and the bungie shoots 100 feet without me noticing until I get home and the cord is gone! I have lost 3 bungies and I don't have any more in the right length.

Thanks
John

I keep two wooden blocks cut like a door stop in the rear cargo area and just put them in the door. BUT be careful no to shut the door with the blocks in as you will smash your brake lights!

The latches suck on these doors. I have the same problem. You can buy new ones at LMC Truck. Buy a few.
