battery died. right after replacing the battery the radio volume got all jacked. there are a few 'clicks' on the volume that are almost completely silent. a few more clicks are at correct volume 0-35mph and then muted above 35 mph. a few other clicks work the opposite (muted below 35).
i have tried unhooking the battery for an hour. i have checked the auto volume 'feature' (tried it on and off).
is this some 'anti-theft' feature? is it related to the battery change out?

this has nothing to do with anti-theft, the radio would be dead with the word "locked" displayed.
when you replaced the battery, did you have the alternator output checked?
the radio works normally with the vehicle in park?

thanks for the reply.
i did not have the alternator output checked. i'll check that tomorrow and will let you know if i find anything out of sorts.
the radio does not work fine with the vehicle in park. it still has a few clicks that are muted.

beginning to sound like an internal radio problem

its just frustrating when correlation ≠ causation.
i still didnt get to check the alternator output...guess that'll be my labor day fun.
