Hey all

I have a 1985 K10 Suburban..5.7 with a Rochester Quadrajet. For the last few months I have been having some starting issues. It starts right up 95 percent of the time but that other 5 percent it turns over but will not start...I come back a few hours later and it starts right up. I have also messed with the choke and that will start it up.

That being said just last week I sat down and rebuilt the carb. So I know it has nothing to do with the carb itself. Im thinking something to do with the choke or the rear vac that connects to the choke...but to be honest I am getting tired of just replacing random parts and am open to suggestions if anyone has had the same problems.

At first I thought it was something to do with the coil or distributor but I alrdy replaced all that before I redid the carb. New wires, plugs, coil and cap. On carb I just stripped it down, cleaned it real good, and replaced the gaskets etc with a rebuild kit.

Thanks
Scott

1. What is your starting procedure when completely cold, step on gas pedal fully to the floor two or three times, remove foot from gas pedal and turn key?
2. Did you set the fast idle speed?
3. Did you adjust the choke pull off?
4. Dont know whether you have an electric or divorced choke but how did you go about adjusting it?
