I am stuck, which is the better buy?? A 1973 Plymouth Valiant 1,000 or a 1973 Chevy Nova 4 door for 1,100??
Both run good.
The 1,000 is the price of the valiant and the 1,100 is the price of the Nova

More parts are available for the Nova. Go for It.

Most of the Valiants were built with a slant six 225 six cylinder engine which is noted for its great service. Most Valiants also had a 904 transmission which is also noted as a great trany. The Valiant will be easier to work on with plenty of room under the hood. Both are easy to get parts for. Take the Valiant.
The only way I would consider the Nova is if it had a 350 engine. But the 350 is a gas hog also.

If the valiant has the slant 6 in it...it's far better.

Easy to work on and damn near indestructible.

Check them both out mechanically. How many miles ? The Valiant has been known to have front end problems. All things being equal buy the Nova.

unless you have some kind of emotional attachment to these makes of cars you should buy neither of them because they have little to no collectible value and they will be more expensive to upkeep than a newer car for the same price.
