recently I have been unable to close my Avalanche tailgate. The latching mechanisms on either side of the tailgate will not latch. I have adjusted the latching pins attached to the truck but it did not work. I have tried to get the latches to latch manually, but the will not. How do I access the latching mechanism and what could possibly be the issue.. Currently, a good 'ol bungee cord is securing my gate.
