I start my car up and it sounds awesome. As soon as I shift the engine gets real quiet and almost sounds like its about to stall. Any suggestions what I can do? I heard maybe something with the carburetor. I am new to this so anything will help/
You dont say anything about what year, what engine. So hard to guess. How many miles since the car had a tuneup, depending on year could be points, condenser, air filter, fuel filter,etc.
So if you dont know assuming it's a points distributor as opposed to electronic, adjust the points, set the timing, check the spark plugs, and adjust the carburetor. You didnt get any maintenance records?
