else could it be? found out heater core was not working , so we bypassed it. Drove car about 40 miles, did not overheat, came back and added a radiator flush in it, drove it about one mile, overheated big time.Did something break loose from flush and get to thermostat?? Is it the water pump?? any ideas?
ok more details, seems like water is not getting thru motor, fill it up & put cap on, when it gets hot, water comes out of the overflow on radiator till it is empty. No water coming from any where else

It could be the water pump. Is there water pooling under the car when the a/c is off. Make sure a/c is off to test this theory. If pump is bad, it will noticably leak on ground. I had to replace one last year. Another possibility is that the oil could be low. If oil gets low enough, your car will overheat that way too, this is unlikely to be the problem, but check anyway. Water pump is more likely.
