Hello forum members, I just purchased a new to me 1994 Chevy Suburban, I just installed a new reman starter to to see if I could fix the whine noise that I get when I go to start this big beast, will I was looking things over I noticed it has a fairly new oil pressure switch, I'm hoping I didn't get taken on buying this, so, my question is, if the oil pressure switch is replaced would this be done by the previous owner to show a higher oil pressure on the gauge on dash ? Thank you in advance for any advice on this.

Ok Thank you for your reply zora, I was just wondering it that might have been some sort of shade tree mechanic trick. The mileage on this 94 suburban is 186,000, I normally would have done a compression check on this vehicle before purchasing, but I left the house without it and I normally would run the vehicle to my brothers shop and have one of the techs look it over and put it the hoist but it was 30 so miles away and I wasn't sure if the P. owner would have allowed me to do that unfortunately, I took a chance. And, the shop was closed and guys were on vacation
