Oil filter, Chevrolet Malibu 2001?

Where is the oil filter for the 2001 Chevrolet Malibu (6 Cylinder) located?

Is it easy to access to change the oil filter?

it is in the front of the engine, towards the bottom, sometimes you can get it from the bottom, but sometims you can reach it from above. Be careful of any nearby sending units or sensors. If you can get a good grip on it you should be able to spin it off by hand.

it is easy to get to but you have to take out the 2 wingnut style bolts on the front little skid plate and then it will be visible. You have to get it from under but be carefull not to touch wrench to the starter.

side of engine on the block. when i say side of engine, that means its the facing the front of car on a transverse design.
not hard to get to.

I think is it on top of engine right side when looking at it.
Is is a cartridge type filter.
Have to undo black cap filter inside I think.
