Hello everyone, new here and looking for some help. I've got a 96 Tahoe sport (the 350 vortec). I was driving one day when she all of a sudden died. At the time no driveabilty problems at all. Well I found out the ign. Coil went bad and had no spark. Replaced that and also replaced the distributor, have found several different methods for the dis. Installation and still have a no start. She tries to fire, can even get it to backfire through throttle body occasionally. I know for a fact it's getting fuel and good pressure. So does anyone have any suggestions? I think the dis may still be installed incorrectly, but since my ign coil was bad could the ign coil module also be bad? Trying not to dump a bunch of money into it. Any help is appreciated -thanks In advance!

can you give the details concerning how you are going about installing the distributor. Are you turning the engine over so that the timing marks on the balancer line up for firing the number 1 cylinder, not the number 6 cylinder, and then installing the distributor so that the rotor is pointing to the number 1 cylinder wire position in the cap?
