Problem city. Alright, so, my car was driving excellent all the way up until this. I was leaving for work one day and went out to start my car (2001 Cavalier) it cranked but it didn't start, so I went back inside and gave it a minute. I went back out to it and cranked it, and it started just fine. Went to work, came back home. It sat all day, went to go to work next night, and the same thing. so I waited, then went back out and it was good. got it home again, the next day, it was the same thing, so I swapped the fuel pump relay with the A/C relay, and it came to life again! For a week. So the no-start was more frerquent now. I thought that it was the fuel pump. It would prime, but it wouldn't start. So I changed out the fuel filter, then it did fine for a day or so. I thought that that was an indication that the fuel pump was out and I was giving it just a little more life. So I ordered a pump. Got around to putting it in, started up great. Went for a drive around town for a couple of hours, then it started bucking from time to time. I thought that it was just the car getting used to the new pump. It died once on our drive, so I got it home, and it killed when I got it home, and wouldn't start back up right after dying. It would before, I would turn it off, then right after, it would start fine, but it didn't that time. So I changed the spark plugs thinking "maybe those are bad." And at the time the pump would prime, but it would kind of go "er err err" instead of a constant "errrrr" (pardon the description)
So. I thought maybe it was a bad pump from the manufacturer, I contacted them and got a replacement. I put it in. And Nothing. So I tested power to the pump and I was only getting Ohms. at this point, I have three pumps (including the old one) I tried all three, and nothing. So then I thought that it needed a code scan. I finally got someone over with a code scanner. Connected it. And it wouldn't even connect to the computer (all fuses good). It's not sparking and the pump isn't priming, so then I replaced the crank sensor. At this point I'm trying anything. So I replaced the oil pressure switch and changed the oil, nothing. So when I crank it over, the odometer reads "error" and the theft system light is on. Okay, so the BCM maybe. I took the BCM off of my brother-in-law's Sunfire. Nada. So ignition switch maybe? Nope. I try the security over-ride and after a crank and a ten minute wait, the light wont go off. I'm still getting no spark and the pump isn't priming. If i'm not mistaken, my vehicle has contracted cancer and died.
Parts tested good:
Battery
ICM
Aternator

Parts replaced:
ECU
Fuel Pump X2 (Herko)
Crank Sensor
Fuel filter
MAP sensor
Air Filter (doesn't pertain to this, but it needed it, same with the MAP)
Spark plugs
Oil pressure switch
Fuel pump relay
tried known good ignition switch
tried known good BCM

I really just need somewhere new to look.

well I think things got complicated when you switched the BCM. Without reprogramming it, it will not have a matching VIN to your vehicle. So which BCM is in the car now? When you found the scanner wouldn't work did you specifically check the cigarette lighter fuse? When you thought you had a fuel problem did you run a fuel pressure test? What about the ECU is it matching your VIN?

The BCM and the ECU are both the original. I kinda figured that I could have messed something up. But I put the origionals back. and I did not perform a pressure test.

so is the theft system light and the speedo message still being displayed? If so that would account for the the fuel pump not running.

If you did the ECM relearn an its still doing the same thing you should check your fuel pressure regulator
