I just bought a '99 K1500 Suburban with a 5.7L. It has 138K miles and seems to have been well cared for. Had it checked out before buying and it needed some front end work. Replaced all the ball joints, some work on the pitman arm and/or drag link, new pads and rotor turn.
There were no maint. records so had all the fluids changed to baseline it. Next will be new tires and shocks.
Then will start sorting out the little stuff. Things like some of the power door locks and windows are intermittent.
After driving small vehicles for many years, this thing it quite a change. It is actually comfortable. We're retired and plan to use it to travel and tow a small RV trailer.
Comfort is good but I have to admit that given the choice I would not have power locks, windows and seats.
I should mention my last GM product was a 1985 M1009 CUCV (military K5 Blazer). I was the 2nd owner. The first was the US DoD. No worries about power gadgets on that machine. Did not even have cup holders but it did have a factory rifle rack.
