New Suburban: tools question

Hi all,

After about 10 years of owning and maintaining European cars, I've just bought a Suburban (1998). Most of my tools were bought with those cars in mind, and as a result I'm very heavy on metric and specialized software.

My question is: what should I start investing in for the Suburban?

• Are the bolts metric or standard?
• What scan tools do you use?
• Any oddball tools or sizes that are good to have on hand?

I think you are quite safe with your metric tool collection.
As for scan tools, that depends on what you want to do, just the ECM or also other systems such as ABS.
If you have a Harbor Freight near by check what they carry.

Thanks. I'm surprised they used metric, but I'll look at it as a free gift. I wasn't looking forward to replacing everything.
