I have chance to buy this 2500 Suburban. Has 55,998 orignal miles. Owner took very good care of it and used it only to haul his RV. He's asking $2000 and it has the 454 engine. It's 2wheel drive and tne interior & exterior are like new. I'm concerned because it's been sitting in his garage for at least 3 years. Should I be concernef about seals, ETC.
Any help or suggestions? It starts right up and sounds OK.

If you buy it you have to change all fluids, engine, trani, differential, etc. Cannt tell about seals, you would have to keep an eye on them for a couple of thousand miles.

The first two things you need to be concerned with are the brake and fuel systems. Brakes will probably need new wheel cylinders and calipers, possibly a new master cylinder. Doesn't matter how good it runs, if it doesn't stop, you're dead, or someone else could be. I know a lot of folks will say it's not necessary, but I'm a cautious person.

It's probably a good deal considering the mileage and the big 454. Just remember, it's a real gas hog. If you don't need that kind of power you might want a later 350 model.
The brake rotors are going to have a lot of surface rust so be aware. I would flush ALL fluids as Zora says, including brakes. Check the exhaust system. It may have rusted through while it sat. Later, you can tune it up with new plugs, wires, cap etc. Speaking of wires, check everywhere for varmint damage. They like to chew up wiring for some reason. Must give them a buzz. Look for nests under seats and carpet.
