My chevy cobalt won't let me use my car key?

It's a 05, ever since i have owned it, it will not let me use the OEM key to open the doors, my alarm goes off every time i turn the key, and open the door. Why? What do I need to do, to fix this issue.

Do you have a keyless entry remote? If you lock it with the remote, then unlock manually (key or unlock button on the door panel) your alarm will go off.

Your car seems to have the Keyless entry option, therefore if you don't have the remote, you'll have to go to the dealer and get one... If you have an aftermarket alarm system (OEM alarm honks the horn) just disconnect it until you can get a universal remote for that one.
