My blower motor on my 99 chevy malibu only works on positions 3 and 4.?

The heat and air conditioning for my 99 chevy malibu only works on the speeds 3 and 4. I looked it up on the internet and it say something about a resister not working. Can that be the problem? Anyone know? I just got a used blower motor from the junk yard recently because the other one didn't work at all.

Its the resistor, they are pretty cheap. The motor for most heater/AC blowers only has one speed (high), so the manufacturer uses a resistor to reduce the amperage to the blower. When the resistor burns out, no more low speed on the blower.

Yes it is the resistor. The resistor doesn't cost a whole lot, maybe less than $20.
