My HHR was sitting for about a month because I had surgery. I tried to start it and it made no sound. I tried to jump start it, no go. The alarm works, the lights work etc but it will not turnover, no noise at all. What could that be? Maybe a fuse, but which one? Any ideas?

I'd be sure that the batery is in fact good bec just bec the lights etc seem to work doesn't mean the battery doesn't have some dead cells etc and even with a boost won't start bec its too weak etc.Try putting a charger on it and then seeing if it tests good and keeps the charge be sure it's fully charged up then try starting it.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way the best way to check the fuses is use a 12 volt test probe with the ignition in the run position test both sides of each fuse they should be live.

If the vehicle sat and lost power via the battery, the cars anti theft device may be engaged, not allowing the car to start. look for the theft light on the dash to be flashing, if so contact the dealer for instructions on how to fix the problem. If the battery is in fact good, and the lights work, thas most likely the problem. Use a 12 volt test light to check the fuses under the hood as well as inside the car.

Are you getting a security light on the dash? How about a malfunction light? Did you try several cycles of the remote fob (lock and unlock several times to reset any security-related inhibits)?

Not even a starter solenoid click, right? Sounds like there's either a start inhibit from security or a malfunction indicated. A bad fuse or relay is also possible.
