that? Ok so the left speaker in my car stereo ( 2007 chevy cobalt ) just stopped working. Then I realized so did my little warning dings that go with the seatbelt and low gas n stuff. BUT not my passenger seatbelt warning ding. ANY IDEAS?
ok well, let me add that, I replaced the factory speakers with better ones. But that was like a year a go. So, it cant be anything I did, right?
ok I am still not helped yet. I know I can take it to a dealer. Please don't me that. I want to know what's wrong and how to fix it. THANKS!

Sounds like you have a short in the wiring that runs to your driver side door. Maybe something wasn't reinstalled correctly when the new speakers were put in and some of the wiring for the door started to rub on metal in the door or door jam around the wiring boots. I would try to trouble shoot by disassembling the door trim and following all the door wiring as far as you can into the car, checking for cut/broken wires. Also check connecting plugs, if there are any. If nothing is found, look under the dash on that side. You may need to remove some interior trim or some duct work to finish trouble shooting. It should be obvious, if there is a wiring problem. Anything more than that and a dealer is really the only option.
