I have a 2001 Chevy Malibu and had trouble starting it just a few days ago. The car would crank strong but wouldn't spark over. I noticed the spark plugs and wires were bad so I replaced them. Turns out I then got a CEL saying I had a Cylinder 3 Misfire. The plugs weren't gapped correctly so I then went back to the auto store and bought the more expensive, pre-gapped plugs. This immediately made the car driveable and was better than ever. The CEL went away after jus a couple drives around the neighborhood. Then tonight it wouldn't start again. Same symptoms though, cranks strong but won't spark over. I retrieved the same code again saying Cylinder 3 Misfire. I'm thinking it's the ignition coil since my car runs off of 3 different coils. That is my last guess though. I definitely don't think I've lost compression in cylinder 3 because the car has shown no symptoms in the past. Please if you have any advice let me know asap. Any advice is appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
