Losing money every day, I need help

I really hope someone can help, I have a 87 suburban 1/2 ton 350cid 4x4 that I
need for work that just refuses to run well enough to drive 60 miles two work.
The problem its having is it starts and drives just fine for a while then loses power really bad and sometimes it will just die and it will start up again drive fine then do it all over again....Help
Parts I have replaced,
Fuel pump
Fuel filter
Battery
plug wires
Cap
Rotor
Ignition control module.

The only time the check engine light comes on is when I start the truck and then it shuts off....

Ignition wise I think the only things left are the coil and the ignition switch. Click on the job diagram on the right.

Thank you for taking the time to post your concerns. I apologize I don't have technical information to better assist you; however, I would recommend giving your local GM dealer a call. Explain your situation and symptoms and they maybe able to give you some ideas. You could always take the vehicle in just to have it diagnosed. I hope this information helps.

Next time you drive it and it does this, get out and feel if either of the front rims is hot. You may have a front disc caliper that is sticking and causing the pads to drag. I had this problem on my '94 and didn't realize it until it got really bad and became apparent.

The seal that keeps dirt and water away from the caliper piston deteriorates and lets water and dirt in resulting in the piston sticking and not being able to retract sufficiently, thus causing the pads to drag.

In fact, the entire caliper (and the relevant area too) should be cleaned periodically so that things can work as they should. That includes the pins that secure it. EVERYTHING.

Now, having said that, my '94 does something that seems similar to your problem (and it ain't the pads anymore). It seems to run really well and peppy at first, but then after a few miles it seems to lose power.

I don't have an answer as to the cause, but it does seem like that's what mine does. Since it seems like it runs better before it's fully warmed, I suspect maybe a vacuum leak that's "cured" by the choke when the engine isn't yet fully warmed.

But that's just a guess. I haven't really tried to diagnose this problem or even determine whether it's real or my imagination.

In your case, be sure to check those front wheel rims after you've driven it.
