Here's the deal. I want to get into rally racing, but as a new driver to the organized racing scene, I must compete in the Group 2 Class of Rally America. Therefore, any vehicle I use must have a displacement of 305 ci or less, be naturally aspirated, be 2 wheel drive, and use an engine of the same make as the car. I would love to keep it GM and use something like a Cavalier. The reason being is that I can purchase a good running Cavalier for about a grand and I want to drive something different from all the imports. An LFX swap would be ideal as they put out ~300 HP from 6 cylinders, and I can purchase one out of an Impala for around $1500. I want to know if it is possible. I'm used to dealing with muscle cars and pushrod V8's so this is all new territory to me.
