Bought a 95 Suburban with 358,000 miles on the body. Motor and transmission has 150k on them. Truck runs great but I want more get up. What other motors are similar to the 95 5.7 350? Can I convert it to the vortec models in the 96's and up? What kind of cams can I get? What kind of power can I expect from basic I/H/E? I'm new to the domestic world but good with mechanic.

Why didn't I think about that before...lol. All I can finally put those summit racing and jegs books to use now that I have a domestic.
But does the engine I have compare to any other models? I noticed that the 96 models and up have a tad more power and better gas mileage, and I go to the junk yard all the time. I mean if I could swap over a computer and few other components, the 95 suburb would turn into a fun little project.
