Anyone know what could be causing my ignition starts to be intermittent on my '96 Suburban? I've replaced the starter already, double checked the wires going into the starter also. Sometimes it starts up w/out any problems, others it won't even crank. It'll start eventually if I just keep trying though.

Have you checked that 12V from the ignition switch is getting to the starter? When you say "keep trying" I assume you mean you are turning the switch off and on again. Could be the switch itself.

Yes, 12V is getting there because it will crank over eventually when I keep turning the switch off & on. It doesn't happen all the time, but when it won't start right away, that's the only way I've found to get it started. I'm fairly positive it's something electrical, I just haven't been able to pinpoint it. Thanks for the reply...

Try a voltage drop test while someone tries to start it from the terminal to the starter . Also check the positive terminal for corrosion and burning where it connects to the battery Goes bad all the time on chevies.

Sounds exactly like my issue and it was the ignition switch
