Hello. I have a 2003 Chevy Malibu 3.1L with 140,000K. It is in need of an intake manifold gasket as it is leaking. Has been slowly leaking for about 30,000 miles and I have been able to prolong it with Barrs Stop Leak and a watchful eye and constant fluid flushes. It has finally went and leakes excessivly. My question is, is it even worth it to have this done?

I loving trying thing for myself but this is not one I want to try. Ive called around severla places anywhere from 550-700$ for the repair.

Is this even worth it? Are there any know aftermath effects when havng one of these replaced?

The replacement gaskets are designed differently and it will not reoccur. If you have no other issues with the car that price is a lot cheaper than a replacement car.
