I need help

I currently own a 95 chevy and am having some problems. Whenever I accelerate fast my oil pressure gauge goes all the way down and my check gauges light comes on. Is this a sign that she is about to blow or what could be the problem? Please respond if you have any information!

Have you checked the oil level when cold? To test the gauge install a temporary manual gauge and check what the oil pressure is at idle and higher rpms.

Adding a temporary Oil pressure gauge is a great idea, you have an oil pump that potentially could be bad. It's rare because it's such a simple mechanism but being a 95(assuming it's the same motor) it could be possible. Drive like a grandma until you get it figured out!

It could just be a faulty oil sending unit. How often do you change your oil?
