...honest Abe Junkyard.? Had all the tranny fluids drained and replaced with a new tranny filter too. I was told to place Qty. 4 quarts of Dextron 3 in the filler and then start the pickup and run for about 5 seconds so the pump can push the fluid into the torque converter. Then added another Qty. 4 quarts again and repeted process again. Anyway, after Qty. 8 quarts my tranny dip stick showed over fill - What happened with this procedure. I was told the pickup should hold to Qty. 15 quarts for fill. Should I continue to add more??? Started the pickup many time and checked dip-stick, still over-fill. Does the pump moving the fluid to the torque convertor work slow

Im pretty sure it takes longer than 5 seconds .Ive always had to hold the brake and shift it slowly from one gear to the next then park and leave it in park engine running when you check the fluid level
now that you have 8 quarts in it slowly add the rest
did you check the torque converter to see if it was empty?
driving it with too much fluid can be as bad as no fluid
