I have a chevy Silverado 2000 and the a/c fuse keeps blowing. Is this a common

problem and how can I fix it? My A/C was fine up until 2 months ago. I replaced the fuse and within a minute it blew. Even at higher fuse resistance it blows. What gives?
Thank you all for you posts, I will check the compressor wires and hopefully find the problem.

By the way, the fuse blows when I turn on the A/C and then blows.
